My Favorite Place I've Travelled (So Far)

Stumped on vacation ideas? Feel like every beach you go to is dirty with murky water? Not enough charm? Well, that’s what I thought too, at least, before I travelled to Seagrove Beach, Florida.

Seagrove Beach is a small town on the popular Florida road, 30A. It is nestled in between Destin and Panama City. This cute little town is known for its charm and villas. You won’t find very many high-rise condos here, that’s for sure.

The sun is almost always shining off the gorgeous turquoise water and you can feel the sea breeze from anywhere in town. Local shops and restaurants line the streets, and you will constantly see people biking up and down the sidewalk. Don’t have a bike? Don’t worry, there are plenty of places to rent one, and I definitely recommend it. Sold yet?

I’ve gone to this charming place about four times now, and I have yet to grow tired of it. We stay in townhomes right on the beach, and the views are definitely excellent. Nothing is better than waking up to the sound of the waves, the smell of the water, and the ocean view from your balcony. Almost as good a mood booster as coffee. And at night, you can lay in bed, still feeling the movement of the waves.

I spend most of my time on the beach, soaking up sun, but there is still plenty to do, and even more to do in the surrounding areas. There are shops, a waterpark, parasailing, kayaking, wind boarding, deep-sea fishing, state parks, and plenty of delicious restaurants for everybody. There is even a nearby island, Shell Island, that you can boat out to and spend all day searching for shells. You will never run out of fun things to do here!

My typical day spent in Seagrove starts off with packing our canopies, coolers, and chairs down to the beach. Most of the time we spend all day switching between the beach and the pool. For lunch, we’ll bike down the road somewhere, I recommend Cowgirl Kitchen. At night we like to eat someplace local, like Goatfeathers. They have the best crab cakes! Afterwards, I like to bike to a really good popsicle place, called Pop Stop. Finally, we go crabbing at night along the beach. Just take a small bucket, a net, and a flashlight. You’ll spot small sand crabs scuttling around, just scoop em up, but be quick because they’re fast little suckers. Sand crabs are too small to eat, so at the end of the night, dump your bucket and watch them run off.

Overall, Seagrove Beach is a great place for those looking for ocean charm, and I highly recommend it. So book your flights, grab your suitcase, and go!
